That’s the 1st piece I propose. Holy crud, the lady’s awesome. She’s all over the place, and she’s right on almost all the time. When she repeats “We think you’re a joke, shove your hope where it don’t shine” I wanna do backflips. Best repeated phrase since “We hope that you choke.” As good as any new thing I’ve heard in a long time.

Let me know when you’ve soaked it in, and we can discuss it.
Santogold… so that’s what it’s called.
Yes, I like it. You can trace its lineages but it sounds novel. The remixes with the guest DJs are especially disorienting. The use of percussive sound effects reminds me of first hearing Tricky decades and decades ago (over at old greedy’s flat in Manchester I think). Similar reggae roots.
Like Outkast, operating from a dance music base but incorporating some guitar-based pop elements. I hear shades of the Pixies in more than one place, an in Outkast.
This is pump-you-up music, which I so rarely listen to but enjoy it when I do. Aggressive lyrics appropriate for self-pumping so I may enter a competitive job market and put food on my family. And yeah the singer is giving 100%, fearless, jumping styles. I love to hear that.
Do you feel as I do, that you will never really think John Legend is the awesome vocalist he is supposed to be because he is too polished? Like so polished and rigidly affected that not enough gets through in the singing. You have to let the voice get untethered now and then. Well Ms. Santogold does not have that problem.
