Gotta get this thing up, on its 5th anniversary. It’s culled from Dave A’s journals (and added to, where necessary, for story arc purposes, but not fictionalized so much as reordered, right Dave?). I edited together some pieces that I liked that I thought fit a narrative, Andy did some rad music, and we produced it live at the Abby Hoffman Died for Our Sins Festival at Mary Arrchie. This is the intro. Think Oldgreedy and Oldannex circa ‘00-’01, and Jerknerd circa whenever (I sound pretty much the same).
My Neighbors in Uptown – Chapter 1 – Intro (.wma) or (mp3)
MNiU – Chapter 2 – I’m Definitely not Dying (.wma) or (mp3)
For the pc illiterate (or beginners), if you want to save it, just right click on the file type you’d prefer and select “save target as” and save it, then you can play it with your music program of choice. If you just want to play it, you can left-click on it.
More chapters to come.
PS – Don’t miss “Root Canal” below, a post the Washington Post says “is not to be missed, except by those who only want the freshest entries.”
oh my god, this entry is amazing.
Thanks Nate.
Yeah, nice entry, man. You know who does a much better job at what I attempted to do on the music track? Bill Frisell on that new show on NPR…. what’s it’s called.
The coolest thing about that show is that we practiced it for weeks just to give one performance for, what, 40 people?
